just a beef

I want to know who in the hell decided area rugs should be so expensive.  I've never purchased a big rug before--- we're moving into a new place and the whole thing is hardwood.  I would think that a rug like I'm looking for should cost around $80... not. even. close.  Not sure what I was thinking, but SHEESH!  Rugs and printer ink, I guess.

    The BEST time to buy and area rug is in the fall: when all the college kid dorm room stuff is out they are MUCH cheaper.

    I know I'm way late to this conversation, but you might try checking out a carpet store and ask for remnants. You can get some for pretty cheap and then you could find someone to finish up the edges for you...
